Tutorial: Editing the Shirts By Alex

- Locating the Shirt Areas:

The blue area (32X14 pixel) corresponds to the sleeve from the elbow to the wrist. The second area, that one yellow, (32X14) corresponds to the sleeve from the left shoulder to the elbow with the captain band (so it can be put everywhere).
So we have the red and green areas (ever 32X14) from the shoulder to the elbow (these ones without the captain band).
The fourth area (violet) is the GoalKeeper sleeve with the captain band – this time it’s 32X15.
The last two areas are the summer shirt sleeves (32X14), the first one is the left arm (with the captain band).

- Colouring:
Open the Shirt with Photoshop and colour it using at most 24 colours. Once finished
you’ll have this kind of thing:

[Image: Captura-de-pantalla-2019-09-12-a-la-s-5-34-36-p-m.png]

Modify it with Mod Center by Obocaman and insert shadows transforming it at 32 bit and selecting shadow, ps1 uniform (if you use light colours set the shadow on 70% like the default one, with dark colours it’s better a 75% shadow). Once done bring the image at 8 bit 256 colours and save it.
Open the new image, transform it in RGB and insert details. In the example there’s the sponsor on the Shirt center but it’s accidental; if you want real sponsors and coats of arms I advise you to find images really small, resizing them with Photoshop. Then you’ll have a shirt like this one:

[Image: Captura-de-pantalla-2019-09-12-a-la-s-5-34-45-p-m.png]

Go into details of the long sleeve area or rather the right side of the image:

Enter now another problem a bit more complex or rather the numbers colours and their type.
Save only the numbers area and make them easily readable. Like the example below:
[Image: Captura-de-pantalla-2019-09-12-a-la-s-5-34-58-p-m.png]

Then save the same palette (set it at 5 colours in this way: one colour is the background the other four are the number shades). Make the 1st colour into the palette corresponds to the background colour (in this case #e8c830 , I ADVICE TO DO NOT USE #000000 ); this colour is the same background colour of your image. So you’ll have a 5 colours palette just saved. Now insert with copy and paste the numbers just made on the numbers of your shirt. Bring the image format to indexed color, select Local (selective), 256 colours and last but more important Forced: Custom. Another window will be open, in this one click “Load” and select the numbers palette you saved before; press ok.
Now it’s over. Divide the file in 2 parts (right and left sides): each one must be 128x128 px. The right side represents the long sleeve with the captain band and it’s already prepared. Last thing to do is the number colouration. Select Image, Mode then Colour Table. You’ll now have the colour table of your shirt: the 1st square is yellow #E8C830 and don’t touch it, you’ll have to edit the 2nd, the 3rd, the 4th and the 5th square of the palette, which correspond to the number colours. After some try you’ll have the right shade; once done press ok and save the file. If the GoalKeeper shirt has a different number from the player shirt you’ll just have to open the colour table and edit the 2nd, the 3rd, the 4th and the 5th square; then press ok and save it (obviously save it as a new image). Once done just compress the shirt with your favourite tool and insert it in the game.
